My name is Matt Reichel. I’m a documentary photographer, geopolitics nerd, nature lover, and co-founder of Inertia Network. I am dedicated to exploring and documenting our world’s most remote, vulnerable and isolated regions, communities and wildlife.

I’m passionate about cultural preservation and environmental conservation— these are my two greatest motivations besides caring for my wife and daughter. Ultimately, I hope my work honours our human and natural heritage through visual storytelling. It’s my greatest wish to inspire people to be more open-minded and compassionate, as well as take away greater nuance in their understanding of our planet.

I am available for commissions and assignments in documentary production, storytelling, journalism, expedition logistics, location management, and non-commercial photography. I am an experienced documentary, underwater, wildlife and aerial photographer, as well as a location manager for documentary productions.

If you are interested in travelling with me, I run a few annual secret expeditions. Subscribe to my mailing list to learn more about these trips and how you can join. If you’d like to get in touch, please contact me directly and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. When not travelling, I’m based between Vancouver, Canada and Ciudad de Mexico, Mexico.
